According to the medical director of the First Medical Association of Lviv Natalia Matolinets, 34 victims were hospitalized in the inpatient departments of the St. Panteleimon Hospital and the St. Luke Hospital. Eight patients with penetrating shrapnel wounds are in operating rooms.
A fragment of a shrapnel flew into the heart of a young 22-year-old girl and damaged the pericardium; she is being prepared for cardiac surgery, noted Matolinets.
Doctors emphasized that the children’s lives are not in danger, and none of the little patients are in serious condition.
Doctors also announced the need for donor blood. Those who are not indifferent can come to the City Blood Center and help the wounded.
As is known, the State Emergency Service reported that 53 people were injured in Lviv, and the city mayor reported that 64 people had sought hospital treatment.
Let us recall that on the night of September 4, Russian occupiers carried out a massive missile and drone attack on Ukrainian cities. Lviv suffered the most from the attack, schools and medical facilities were damaged in the city. Seven people were killed in the Russian attack, and another 53 people were injured.
