Yulia Navalnaya, the widow of Russian politician Alexei Navalny and a contender for leadership of the Russian democratic opposition, has proposed a European strategy for reorganizing Russia “within internationally recognized borders.”
At the same time, she denies the need for “decolonization” of Russia due to its division into smaller states, criticizes EU sanctions and suggests not identifying the dictator Putin and Russia, writes Novinarnya.
Navalnaya believes that the following actions by Europeans correspond to this strategy:
- “to help Russian civil society, independent media, human rights activists, and any horizontal structures”;
- “to make a distinction between Putin and Russia”;
- “to assist Ukraine in realizing its right to defense.”
There is no need to “support those who spread hatred,” “negotiate with Putin as the legitimate president of Russia,” “threaten to divide Russia into many parts, playing into the hands of Putin’s propaganda.”
The latter statement caused a significant resonance on social networks, primarily among Ukrainians.
