The first underground hospital for the Armed Forces of Ukraine was put into operation in Ukraine.
The stabilization point is located near the front line. The hospital consists of two full-fledged operating units, two intensive care units, a work area and a rest area for doctors. The facility is equipped with modern medical equipment: oxygen concentrators, ventilators, cardiac monitors and defibrillators. The Ministry of Defense reported this on Telegram.
It is noted that the hospital’s equipment meets the requirements of field hospitals according to NATO standards. The hospital has the ability not only to stabilize the wounded, but also to conduct up to four operations simultaneously.
Acting commander of the Vostok Medical Forces Roman Kuzev said that the hospital can provide assistance to more than 100 wounded servicemen every day.
The medical facility is protected by electronic warfare systems. The cost of the stabilization point is more than 20 million UAH. In total, the project provides for the construction of more than 20 underground stabilization points.
Let us recall that during a highly complex operation in a frontline hospital, doctors extracted a mine tail from the body of a wounded soldier. At the same time, doctors were able to save the leg of a Ukrainian soldier.
