A Russian court ruled that the agreement between the customer and the contractor, made for the purpose of beating and killing, was void. Therefore, the funds are subject to collection on the income of the Russian Federation.

A lawsuit to apply the consequences of invalidity of a void transaction and recovery was filed by a prosecutor against former policeman Evgeny Popov, who was convicted in 2019 of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death of the victim. The third party in the case is, in particular, Alexander Kaidanov (the mastermind of the murder).
According to the court, Popov received about 629 thousand rubles from Kaidanov for the beating and murder.
Having satisfied the demands of the representative of the supervisory agency, the Nevsky District Court obtained from Popov about 629 thousand rubles in the income of the Russian Federation.
In 2019, Popov was sentenced to 18 years in prison in a maximum security colony. The court announced the verdict against former lawyer Kaidanov in 2021;
