The highest body of the CSTO is the Collective Security Council. The CSTO’s main efforts are aimed at cooperation in military matters.
Armenia has suspended its participation in the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and politicians are considering leaving the organization. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this on Saturday, August 31, to the News AM broadcaster.
According to the Prime Minister of Armenia, in his opinion, the suspension of participation is enough, however, discussions continue among the country’s politicians and government officials about what exactly needs to happen for Armenia to officially withdraw from the CSTO .
“But we have to look at it, I respect all viewpoints, but on the other hand, we made the decision we made so far, we don’t see the need to make another decision,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister of Armenia added: if his government “in the next moment finds the need to make another decision,” it will be accepted, and the country will leave the CSTO.
