On Saturday, August 31, the Central Election Commission of Moldova, for the second time a week later, refused to register the initiative group of Lyudmila Korsun, which intended to participate in the country’s presidential elections as an independent candidate, wrote the NewsMaker.
It was noted that on the last day of submission of documents, the election commission refused to register the initiative groups of Vasile Boli and Lyudmila Korsun, but accepted the documents of three potential presidential candidates: Vasile Tarlev, who resubmitted documents from the Future of Moldova party, as well as Avelin Tabarchi and Valentin Borodaki who plan to compete for the presidency as independent candidates
On August 24, Moldova refused to register the initiative group of Lyudmila Korsun, citing her insufficient knowledge of the Romanian language as the main reason for the refusal.
Korsun is a social activist and lawyer who has lived abroad for more than 20 years and supports Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
It was previously reported that the current president of the country, Maya Sandu, confirmed her participation in the presidential elections.
