In different cities on Saturday, August 31, the annual patriotic event took place – the race “I Respect the Warriors, I Run for the Heroes of Ukraine.” Ukrinform reports this in connection with the publications of the press services of the regional military administrations.
“This tradition, dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of Defenders of Ukraine, was opened in 2018 by the father of the deceased” cyborg “Alexey Durmasenko, Oleg Durmasenko, together with Taisiya Bratasyuk and Dmitry Primachenko in the years of existence of the race, its geography has expanded from the regions of Ukraine to almost 40 countries,” the publication said.
The current campaign is the seventh since its inception.
Participants ran at distances of 2 km, 5 km or 10 km with the name of a friend or stranger who gave their life in the fight for the territorial integrity of Ukraine in the period from 2014 to 2024 on a T-shirt.
Everyone who registered to take part in the event took part in the race. Among those who ran were military personnel, border guards, soldiers of the State Emergency Service, officials, family members of fallen heroes and other citizens.
We remind you that the Day of Remembrance of Defenders of Ukraine is celebrated on August 29 – in memory of the soldiers who died near Ilovaisk in 2014.
