The Armed Forces of Ukraine must use long-range weapons, said the head of the Czech Foreign Ministry, Jan Lipovsky.
Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky told the Globsec security conference in Prague that the Czech Republic does not impose any restrictions on Ukraine’s use of its military equipment, but the attitude of some allies to this issue. ČTK reported it.
According to him, the Czech Republic does not impose any restrictions on Ukraine regarding the use of the weapons it supplies.
“On the other hand, let’s be honest: the most modern weapon systems that have a long range or put suppliers in some strategic dilemmas don’t come from the Czech Republic either,” he added.
Lipovsky cited as an example the long-range ATAMCS missiles that Ukraine received from the United States and the German Taurus missiles, which Berlin has so far refused to hand over.
“I think that Ukraine should be able to use these systems, but I leave it to the decision of the allies that I do not criticize these countries.
He emphasized that Ukraine has the right to defend itself from aggression.
“It is better if a plane with a missile or a bomb does not even fly than to try to shoot a plane or missile that is flying towards the target Russia has no right to attack Ukraine it in the bud,” concluded by Lipavsky.
As we have already written, further support for Ukraine remains a key task for the Czech Republic’s foreign and security policy.
In addition, the Czech Republic now has access to another important source of funds, with which it will finance the supply of large-caliber ammunition that Ukraine desperately needs. We are talking about income from the state of the Central Bank of Russia that is frozen in EU countries.
