Aviation Day of Ukraine is celebrated on August 31.
On this day, the Ukrainian military showed which aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force are carrying out combat missions. The footage shows complex maneuvers performed by pilots and strikes against the Russian invaders. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported a response video on Telegram.
As you know, on the last Saturday of August, Ukraine celebrates Aviation Day. In 2024, this holiday fell on August 31. It is dedicated to all those working in the aviation industry, including pilots, engineers, technicians, dispatchers, as well as civil and military aviation workers. Aviation Day symbolizes recognition of their professionalism, courage and dedication to their work.
Ukrainian Aviation Day was launched in 1993 after Ukraine gained independence in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 305/93.
The Ukrainian resistance at the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion was symbolized, in particular, by the pilots of the Air Force. The Ukrainians even created an image known as the “Kiev Ghost”.
Recall that on August 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky dismissed Mykola Oleshchuk from the post of Commander-in-Chief of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was decided to appoint Lieutenant General Anatoly Krivonozhko as Acting Commander of the PS.
