Thanks to the initiative to provide weapons by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Ukraine will receive 100 thousand shells in July-August. By the end of the year, 500 thousand large-caliber ammunition could be delivered to Ukraine.
The Czech Republic fulfills its promises as part of the initiative to transfer ammunition to the Ukrainian Defense Forces and provide shells to Ukrainian military personnel. The battles are taking place in accordance with the contracts. Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipovsky said this on Thursday, August 29, writes Ceske Noviny.
“The supply of artillery shells to the Ukrainian army, purchased by the allies as part of the Czech initiative, continues according to the established plan,” he said.
At the same time, the minister noted that the situation with the transfer of air defense systems in Ukraine remains difficult, as there are few of them.
“The situation here is complicated, because there are few air defense systems, and everyone is in no hurry to provide them, because you have to defend your own airspace,” said the head of the Czech Foreign Ministry.
Continued support for Ukraine remains a major challenge for Czech foreign and security policy.
The Czech Republic now has access to another important source of funds, which will finance the supply of large-caliber ammunition that Ukraine desperately needs. We are talking about income from the state of the Central Bank of Russia that is frozen in EU countries.
