According to the investigation, Popov enriched himself at the expense of Patriot Park together with director Vyacheslav Akhmedov and deputy head of the Main Directorate for Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense Vladimir Shesterov. The value of the theft exceeded 30-40 million rubles.
The official arranged construction and repair work at his site in the Krasnogorsk region at the expense of the treasury and forced business managers to carry out construction and installation work in their apartments.
The total value of the real estate of Popov and his family members is more than 500 million rubles.
Earlier, in a case of fraud, the court sent the director of Patriot Park, Vyacheslav Akhmedov, to a pre-trial detention center. The Deputy Chairman of the Department of Innovative Development of the Ministry of Defense, Major General Vladimir Shesterov, was also detained in this case.
