Since Ukraine began receiving ATACMS missiles, Russia has moved 90% of its aircraft beyond their range.
The Wall Street Journal writes about this.
This means that using these missiles on Russian territory will have little effect. And the United States has so far refused to lift restrictions on strikes deep into Russian territory.
Despite the fact that the aggressor has hidden some of the aircraft, it still needs airfields located in the affected area to support the offensive on Ukraine’s TOT.
Deputy Director of the company producing electronic warfare equipment Anatoly Khrapchinsky believes that Russia will take risks and lose aircraft to the last, but will use these airfields.
The Ukrainians can use the assistance we’ve given them to defend against cross-border attacks. But when it comes to long-range strikes, deep strikes into Russia, our policy hasn’t changed, Pentagon spokesman Gen. Patrick Ryder said on Aug. 27.
Looking ahead, we intend to continue to consult closely with our Ukrainian partners, as well as our allies and partners around the world, about how best to support Ukraine in achieving its ultimate goal of a free and sovereign Ukraine that can deter future aggression from Russia.
