The US military is learning from its Ukrainian counterparts how to integrate new things, such as UAVs. Ground maneuvers, air power and long-range fire capabilities are also being studied.
The Pentagon wants to incorporate Ukraine’s lessons into its own military, one of which is the influence of drones. Today, a new US Ground Forces unit is using Ukraine’s experience in the field of drones and electronic warfare. Business Insider reported this.
On the Ukrainian front, these weapons have evolved into combat operations, so the Pentagon is keeping an eye on them.
According to Defense One, a unit of the US Army, the 101st Airborne Multifunctional Reconnaissance Company, has been tasked by the US military leadership to implement the lessons learned in Ukraine. In particular, the journalist of the publication visited a unit at Fort Johnson, located in Louisiana. New equipment is being tested there and a new US military doctrine is being developed.
“There are so many lessons we can learn [украинцев]and a lot of it comes down to integrating new things like distribution [беспилотников]”,” said Major General Brett Sylvia, commander of the 101st Airborne Division, in the publication.
“A group of officials is said to be closely studying the conflict in Ukraine in areas such as ground maneuvers, air power and long-range fire capabilities to incorporate lessons learned into the new National Defense Strategy,” said Business report.
The purpose of the analysis, the journalists wrote, is to find out how the American infantry can integrate small drones into their units and counter enemy drones and their ability to track and target their positions using electronic signals.
Remind us that on Saturday, President Vladimir Zelensky said that Ukraine used the new Palyanitsya missile-drone for the first time. These are Ukrainian-made weapons of a “completely new type.”
Later in a press conference, Zelensky announced the “very long” missiles. “There will be other missiles, very powerful and very far,” said the head of state.
