Jailed 66-year-old Ronald Sivrud threatened to kill the former president in his publications on social networks.
Law enforcement in the United States has detained a man who threatened to kill former President Donald Trump on social networks. The arrest of 66-year-old Ronald Sivrud took place on Thursday, August 22, in Cochise County, Arizona, CNN reported.
The man is accused of threatening to kill Trump in several of his social media posts over the past few weeks.
The man had previously been the subject of several arrest warrants, including in a neighboring county for failing to register as a “sex offender.”
Trump himself was in Cochise County on August 22, where he made several statements about the situation on the US-Mexico border.
The former president’s team was informed by law enforcement that the man was wanted before Trump arrived at the border.
The US Secret Service is investigating the man.
As you know, on July 13, there was an attempt on Trump’s life at a campaign rally. The former US President was injured, and one of the participants in the event died. The Secret Service said the shooter, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed.
