On the night of today, August 23, Russian invaders carried out another large-scale air attack on Ukraine.
The Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk, reported this on his Telegram channel.
The enemy used:
- two Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles launched from the Voronezh region;
- 16 Shahed-type attack drones (launch areas: Russian Yeysk and Kursk).
The air defense of Ukraine operated in the Cherkasy, Kirovograd, Poltava and Sumy regions.
As a result of the anti-aircraft battle, aviation, electronic warfare units and mobile fire teams of the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 14 “shahids”. Another two were lost in location, no information on damage was received, Oleshchuk said.
