The Council supported the bill on deferment from conscription during mobilization for citizens whose close relatives were killed or went missing while participating in military operations during martial law.
The Rada supported bill No. 11391 both in principle and in general.
This means that men whose minor brother or sister is killed or missing will be granted a deferment from mobilization.
The document was initiated by the EU faction. Its MP Irina Gerashchenko explained on her Facebook page that there is a rule: if there is a hero in the family who died in the war, then other family members cannot be mobilized.
There are some wild cases. If a woman has two sons from different marriages, and one of the sons dies, the second son can be called up to the army, Gerashchenko explained.
The project was supported by a total of 310 deputies.
