The Ministry of Internal Affairs said how the military commandant’s office works in the Kursk region

About 90% of residents in the controlled territories of the Russian Federation are people aged 60+ years, there are also cancer patients and patients with diabetes.

The military commandant’s office established in the Ukrainian-controlled territories in the Kursk region fully provides for the basic needs of local residents, in accordance with the Geneva Conventions. Interior Minister Igor Klymenko announced this on Tuesday, August 20, Ukrinform reports.

“We did not occupy these territories, we did not establish any power there, and the people who remain there receive aid and medicine from the military a desire to appear good, it is a matter of state responsibility and we show that Ukraine is a responsible state that abides by the conventions it signed,” he said.

Klimenko said that 90% of residents in the controlled territories of the Kursk region are people aged 60+ years, also patients with cancer and diabetes.

“And we don’t have the right to leave them there to die, so the office of the military commander takes full responsibility for the regions where our troops are conducting a defense operation.

As Klimenko explained, requests from the military are received and they are provided with everything necessary for local residents through the police and the State Emergency Service.
