In Mirnograd, Donetsk region, markets and shops have been closed and businesses are being evacuated.
There is already shelling in the city “during the day, when people are on the streets.” There is also a strict curfew in Mirnohrad: from 15:00 to 11:00.
The situation is very tense, and the trend is getting worse… If Pokrovsk still has two weeks, according to calculations, then Mirnograd no longer has these weeks. Mirnograd has only a few days left, maybe a day or two or three. Because we have already been feeling artillery shelling for the third day, – said the acting Mirnograd city military administration Yuriy Tretyak.
The Pokrovskaya community said that 500-600 people a day are leaving. And before the situation worsened, up to 500 people a month were leaving here.
On August 18, 490 people left Pokrovsk, 135 of whom were on an evacuation train, the rest left by their own transport. More than a thousand people can be taken out of the community by train per day.
On August 19, the Donetsk OVA announced the forced evacuation of families with children from the Pokrovsk community. The decision concerns: the cities of Pokrovskoe and Rodinskoye, the villages of Ignatovka, Dachenskoye, Zheltoye, Zelenoe, Lysovka, Novopavlovka, Novoukrainka, Pushkino, Rog, Sukhoi Yar, Roza and Chunishine.
It is reported that more than 53 thousand people still remain in the community, including almost 4 thousand children.
There are 795 children remaining in Mirnohrad, said OVA chairman Vadim Filashkin.
People are leaving very slowly. In Mirnograd, 795 children and 21 thousand residents remain, in Selydove – 34 children, 2500 thousand people, from the city of Novogrodovka all children were evacuated, but 1500 people still remain. A very difficult situation, – Filashkin reported.
The acting head of the Mirnograd MVA, Yuriy Tretyak, told journalists from a local television company that less than 16 thousand people remained in Mirnograd.
He also spoke about the closure of banks, pharmacies, shops and markets, and the evacuation of all organizations and institutions.
The departments of the Mirnohrad city hospital are also leaving. Only those doctors who will be involved in providing assistance to the wounded will remain in the city. While utility workers also remain in Mirnohrad, the administration is working in the city.
Since August 19, restrictions on movement in Mirnohrad are in effect from 15:00 to 11:00. The evacuation of enterprises and institutions also begins, and a pass system is introduced in society.
Dear residents of the Mirnohrad community! In the next 24 hours, you must collect your personal belongings and leave for safer regions of the country. In connection with the critical approach of military actions and the daily advance of Russian occupation troops, I urge all of you, especially families with children and partially incapacitated relatives, not to delay evacuation, – such a message was distributed by Tretyak.
