Russia has banned the Clooney Foundation for Justice, accusing it of discrediting the country and supporting the opposition.
The Office of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation recognized the activities of the American non-governmental organization Clooney Foundation for Justice as undesirable on the territory of Russia. It was reported by Radio Liberty with reference to the telegram channel of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office.
According to the Russian department, the foundation, founded by actor George Clooney and his wife, lawyer Amal Clooney, is allegedly engaged in discrediting, supporting oppositionists who have left the country and contributing to -persecution of the Russian leadership abroad.
The Clooney Foundation for Justice, which operates in more than 40 countries, is also investigating Russian war crimes in Ukraine.
It was previously reported that George Clooney called on Biden to withdraw from the election race.
