The village of New York in the Donetsk region is occupied by the Russian army.
The invaders already control this settlement, Ukraine has lost this city. The 46th separate airmobile brigade of the Airborne Assault Troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Telegram on August 18.
New York, unfortunately, is all. Fascinated by orcs, the message says.
The brigade noted that the situation is very difficult in all areas of the Donetsk region. The Russians have already entered the outskirts of Toretskaya in two directions. The invaders have also approached the cities of Grodovka and Novogrodovka. Krasnogorovka is also practically occupied.
In addition, after the capture of Zhelannoye, a very important route to Karlovka was cut off.
The 46th Joint Air Defense Brigade added that an additional threat of encirclement of the Defense Forces on the western and eastern banks of the Volcha River had arisen. Also, after reaching the Konstantinovka-Ugledar highway, the enemy had begun to bypass Ugledar from the northeast for the first time.
The enemy is spreading across the region. The pace of advance is very high. And, unfortunately, its offensive potential here is currently limited not by the strength of our resistance, but rather by its own reserves, the military emphasized.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not comment on the loss of New York.
As is known, the village of New York is located in the Toretsk direction and is located 5 km from the city of Gorlovka, which has been temporarily occupied since 2014.
Let us recall that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on the morning of August 18, Russian invaders carried out a massive attack in the area of the settlements of Severnoye and Zheleznoye in the Donetsk region. The occupiers, with support, tried to break through the Ukrainian defense, but were defeated.
