Due to a storm in the Stryi district of the Lviv region, a tree fell on the carriage of a commuter train from Stryi to Ivano-Frankivsk – passengers and railway workers were injured. Four passengers with body injuries were taken by ambulance. This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia on Sunday, August 18.
“All the victims immediately received first aid, four passengers with body injuries were taken by ambulance, their lives are safe,” the message said.
The train was already moving with a delay of 1 hour and 42 minutes, and passengers were transferred from the damaged car to a reserve, which was attached by railway workers to the stop.
“The typhoon warning is now spreading to the regions, so we ask you to carefully follow the warnings of the weather forecasters who continue to move despite the bad weather,” Ukrzaliznytsia urged.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center warned of thunderstorms in the western and central regions.
