Ukraine and 20 other countries joined the joint declaration on Venezuela. The signing took place on the sidelines of the inauguration of the President of the Dominican Republic, Luis Abinader. The signatories of the declaration also called for the release of Venezuelans arbitrarily detained during the peaceful protests.
“We strongly condemn the repression of protesters and the violence that has claimed the lives of many Venezuelans in the post-election context. We immediately call on Venezuela to stop the violence and release all those imprisoned, including members of the opposition. In addition , we demand the immediate return of the Office of the Supreme People to Venezuela and call on Venezuela to provide the necessary conditions for the full implementation of its mandate,” the text of the declaration stressed.
