In Dnepr, in cooperation with law enforcement officers from the US Department of Homeland Security, three members of a group that sold and distributed child pornography were exposed.
The press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reported this today, August 17.
According to the investigation:
- a resident of Dnepr, previously subject to criminal liability, together with her 18-year-old son and an acquaintance, organized the distribution of pornography involving the woman’s other 12-year-old son;
- They created a social media page and a closed Telegram channel where they looked for potential clients among foreigners;
- After they paid the money, the suspects distributed pornographic photos and videos via messenger;
- In the last two months alone, the defendants earned about 200 thousand UAH. The proceeds were distributed among themselves.
The illegal actions of the group members have been stopped, they have been charged under Part 4 of Article 301-1 of the Criminal Code and preventive measures have been selected.
The injured child was removed from the dangerous environment for rehabilitation, the Prosecutor General’s Office noted.
During searches at residences, photographs and video materials were seized.
