In Estonia, in the military town of Ämari, it is planned to start producing ammunition no later than the beginning of 2025, Defense Minister Hanno Päkvkur said, ERR reports.
“In today’s security situation, it is necessary to start producing ammunition in Estonia as soon as possible,” said Pevkur.
The minister added that while Estonia does not have a defense industrial park, it is necessary to find other ways to speed up the production of ammunition.
According to him, one of the options is to provide, on a soft basis, one or another business with the opportunity to start such production in Emar.
“There is an infrastructure for this with the corresponding safety and reliability requirements,” said Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur.
