Age jokes are boomeranging back on 78-year-old Donald Trump from the younger Kamala Harris.
Politico reports that Trump has spent months criticizing Joe Biden as outdated for the presidency, but now that Harris, 59, could be the Democratic nominee, that argument is working against him.
In her speeches, Harris says the US should not “go back to the past” when Trump was president, while her running mate, Tim Walz, calls Trump “a guy who needs a weekend getaway.”
However, Politico writes, it could also alienate voters – Harris and other Democrats have previously defended Biden’s age.
Recall that Harris agreed to take part in two debates with Trump. The Hill writes that Harris wants to meet the former president on September 10 on ABC News. At the same time, Trump wants to hold debates on September 4 on Fox News and on September 25 on NBC News.
Rakurs wrote that Harris is ahead of Donald Trump in the “shaky” Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. In the New York Times/Siena College poll, Trump’s support rating has risen to 46% in three states. And that would be enough against Joe Biden, whose rating fell to 30% in early July. But it’s not enough against Harris yet.
