Iran will put on hold its planned “revenge” against Israel after Tehran killed Hamas leader Ismail Ghaniya over ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip. The New York Times reported it.
American, Israeli, Egyptian and Qatari officials met on Friday in the capital of Qatar for talks to resolve differences between Israel and Hamas, the media recalled.
Following these talks, Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani called on Iran’s acting Foreign Minister Ali Baghera Qana. According to the publication’s sources, the Qatari official called on Iran to avoid any actions that could lead to escalation.
The day after the negotiations, Israeli intelligence noted a decrease in the level of combat effectiveness of Iranian and Hezbollah missile units.
Recently, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tightened the conditions for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. He demanded that the Israeli military remain on the Gaza Strip’s border with Egypt to prevent Hamas militants from acquiring new weapons.
As we have already written, Iran may attack Israel on Monday, August 5th. There is also information that it will happen on August 12-13 – the day of Jewish mourning.
