The Ministry of Defense approved the Buffalo MPV engineering vehicle for delivery to the army, where no one was killed during the blasts.
The Ministry of Defense has codified and approved for delivery to the Armed Forces of Ukraine the Buffalo MPV armored engineering vehicle, which is called one of the safest in the world. This was reported on Friday, August 16, by the press service of the department.
It turns out that the Buffalo MPV is a US Army engineering vehicle built using MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) technology. This is a class of military vehicles with higher ballistic protection, with a V-shaped bottom to dissipate the energy of the explosion and special shock-absorbing seats. Structurally, armored vehicles consist of a monolithic armored capsule and external explosion-absorbing units.
The Buffalo MPV armored engineering vehicle is a deep modernization of the popular CASPIR armored vehicle. This armor has been used during military operations in South Africa since the 1980s, in Iraq and Afghanistan. CASPIR is in service with militaries and law enforcement agencies in more than 10 countries around the world. It is noteworthy that during the operation in combat conditions, there was not a single casualty among the armored vehicles of this model subjected to explosions and shelling.
The Buffalo MPV belongs to category III vehicles according to the STANAG 4569 standard and can withstand a mine explosion with an explosion force equal to 20 kg of TNT. The windows are protected by 15 cm bulletproof glass, and the armored capsule is made of composite armor, additionally protected by cumulative grilles. The vehicle is equipped with a 9-meter manipulator with a built-in camera and sensors for neutralizing explosive devices.
The Ministry of Defense said that engineer armored vehicles of this model are in service with the armies of Canada, France, Italy, Pakistan, and Great Britain.
We remind you that the Ministry of Defense has approved a firefighter who can work in extreme temperatures.
As reported, since the beginning of the year, the Ministry of Defense has codified and approved more than 10 domestically produced robotic systems for use in the army.
