A famous Italian surgeon performed demonstration operations in Ukraine

Italian surgeon Marco Innocenti worked on a voluntary basis for ten days in Vinnitsa and Zhitomir, where he advised and performed complex operations on wounded Ukrainian soldiers. Local Ukrainian surgeons attended them as part of the course, reports Ukrinform.

For reference: Marco Innocenti (born 1956) graduated with honors from the Department of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Florence, specializing in plastic surgery, hand surgery and orthopedics. He also studied and practiced in Louisville (USA) and Hong Kong. Currently, Innocenti is a professor of plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery at the University of Bologna (the oldest in Europe) and director of Clinic IV – Orthoplasty at the Rizzoli Institute of Bologna. He has performed more than 800 microsurgical interventions and 3,500 operations in hand surgery and plastic surgery.
