People arriving from countries where cases of monkeypox infection have been confirmed are subject to mandatory testing.
In response to rising global monkeypox (mpox) infections, China is tightening entry controls for six months. This was reported on the Chinese government website.
The tighter controls began on August 15 and will remain in place for at least six months.
Mandatory screening will be required for people arriving from countries and regions where cases of monkeypox infection have been confirmed. If any of these arrivals have some symptoms such as fever, headache, back pain, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes and rash, they must report their condition to customs when entering China.
Customs officials will conduct sampling and testing for monkeypox in accordance with current protocols.
At the same time, vehicles, containers and goods from countries and regions where cases of monkeypox have been reported will be disinfected.
We remind you that the World Health Organization recently recognized the outbreak of monkeypox (mpox) in Africa as a public health emergency of international concern.
