Power outage schedules may return to Ukraine next week.
The reason is the expected increase in temperature, leading to an increase in consumption. Deputy Minister of Energy Svetlana Grinchuk spoke about this today, August 16, on the air of the national telethon.
What we will see next week may lead to energy companies having to use shutdown schedules, she noted. However, we will do everything to ensure that even if we have to do this, these schedules are as invisible as possible to our consumers.
Grinchuk added that repairs and restoration of equipment damaged by Russian attacks are ongoing at energy facilities across the country. She called on consumers to use electricity sparingly and businesses to actively import electricity to protect themselves from outages.
So far, since July 30, Ukraine has not been using hourly shutdown schedules for the population and industry, with the exception of August 8, when restrictions were in effect for industry and business from 17:00 to 22:00.
