Germany will have no difficulty in using this equipment for service, the department assured.
The US State Department has approved the possible sale of extended-range Patriot missiles and related equipment to Germany, worth approximately five billion dollars. This was reported by the American Defense Cooperation Agency.
In the past, the German government asked the United States to sell up to 600 Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) missiles.
The sale will enhance Germany’s ability to counter current and future threats, enhance the defense capability of its armed forces, and contribute to improvements in national and territorial defense, as well as interoperability among US and NATO forces.
Germany does not experience any difficulty in using this equipment in service.
The final agreement still needs to be approved by the US Congress.
Earlier, the media wrote that the United States intends to suspend open orders for the Patriot air defense system and missiles for them until Ukraine has sufficient means to protect itself from attacks of Russian air.
