A large-scale power failure occurred in Primorsky Territory on August 16. This was reported by Russian Telegram channels and the publication Radio Liberty.
Local authorities say there was allegedly no explosion or external emergency at the site.
The initial reason for the power outage in Primorye was a technological malfunction of the equipment of the Primorskaya State District Power Plant.
Russian media and social networks wrote that the cities were left without electricity after the exercise “to deal with an emergency situation related to the shutdown of a high-voltage power line.”
Electric trains stopped in the region, residents complained about problems with mobile Internet, traffic lights in cities did not work, there was no light in hospitals, bridges were blocked.
