The SBU, in cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine, destroyed the Russian Kasta radar in Zaporozhye.
Special service fighters working in the hot areas of the front in the Zaporizhia region tracked down and adjusted fire on the enemy’s 39N6 Kasta-2E2 long-range radar station. Its cost, depending on the configuration, starts at $60 million. This was reported by the press center of the Security Service of Ukraine.
It is noted that this station was the “eyes” of the Russian air defense, which controlled the Ukrainian airspace. The enemy hid the important machine in the rear, carefully camouflaged it and often redeployed it.
But military counterintelligence officers from the 13th Main Directorate of the SBU hunt for precisely such rare targets. So this time they were able to track down the radar and fire at it to destroy it, the SBU noted.
The special service recalled that since the beginning of the full-scale war, various units of the SBU have already destroyed 166 Russian air defense systems and 446 electronic warfare systems, as well as electronic and radio-technical reconnaissance systems on the front line.
Let us recall that in early August, an SBU soldier destroyed a heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A “Sontsepek” in the Zaporizhzhya direction, which is the “pride” of the Russian military-industrial complex.
