Vilnius will not lift the ban on the export of Russian cargo through its territory to the Kaliningrad region.
Lithuania is against the intentions of some European politicians to ease the ban on the transfer of Russian goods to the Kaliningrad region through European Union territory. This was announced on Wednesday, June 29, by MEP Petras Auštrevičius, Channel 24 reports.

He noted that any interference with Lithuania’s decision to ban the movement of goods from the Russian Federation to the EU’s Kaliningrad region would be the worst. Lithuania will never agree to this.
According to Auštrevičius, after the Russian threats, some bureaucrats in Europe began to think about a certain correction and simplification of the transit situation. But Lithuania will not change the restrictions just because of aggressive threats from Russia.
“It can only exclude Lithuania from the territory where the EU sanctions policy is fully implemented. And we will not agree with this. It is just a betrayal of values. And even an attempt to break Lithuania into through transit corridors, “said Auštrevičius.
According to the deputy, the metal from Kaliningrad or on the return route will go to military plants. Subsequently, they will make equipment from it, from which Ukrainians will be killed.
Earlier it was reported that Lithuania intends to block the transit of almost half of the goods by rail to the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation.
Some time later, Lithuania extended restrictions on the transportation of sanctioned goods in the Kaliningrad region, not only for rail, but also for road freight transit.
The Russian Federation called the blockade of Kaliningrad “a shameless trick of Vilnius.”
