The closing ceremony of the Summer Olympic Games was held in Paris on Sunday, August 11. The main part of the show took place at the Stade de France.
In the parade of participants, which started the ceremony, the flag of Ukraine was carried by wrestler Parviz Nasibov and canoeist Lyudmila Luzan.
The show featured performances from artists including Phoenix and Kavinsky. The organizers presented the history of the Olympic Games in the form of a presentation.
The highlight of the show was Hollywood actor Tom Cruise descending from the roof of the Stade de France. He received the Olympic banner and, according to the story, was supposed to deliver it to Los Angeles, where the next Olympic Games will take place in 2028.
The actor rode the flag on a motorcycle through Paris and boarded the plane. Then Cruise jumped with a parachute and “landed” in Los Angeles.
There, the flag was brought to shore, where performances by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Snoop Dogg and Billie Eilish were held.
The show ended with a massive fireworks display at the Stade de France.
We remind you that Ukrainian athletes received 12 medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Ukraine took the 22nd position in the medal standings.
Earlier it was reported that wrestler Kolyadenko received silver in Paris, and boxer Khizhnyak won Olympic gold.
