Olympic high jump champion Yaroslava Maguchikh has revealed how she will spend her prize money for winning gold at the 2024 Games.
Let us recall that the state guarantees 125 thousand dollars for the winners of the Olympic Games in Paris.
Maguchikh said on her Instagram that she will not keep anything from this amount for herself.
Yaroslava will donate part of the money to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, donate another part to a psychological support fund, and a small part to help shelters and animals from the occupied territories.
In addition, I believe it is the right and fair decision to thank my team, which prepared me for this medal not just for one Olympic cycle of four years, but invested in me from the first day of my path in athletics.
Money is nothing compared to what we have been through with the team. And nothing compared to how much the Ukrainian Armed Forces and volunteers do for us so that we can live in an independent and free country. And if I can use it in this way, I will, – wrote Maguchikh.
Let us recall that Yaroslava, in addition to Olympic gold, set a new world record in high jump in 2024 – 210 cm.
