Ukraine can use German weapons at its own discretion, because after the transfer they became Ukrainian, the Bundestag said.
Ukraine has the right to use weapons transferred from Germany at its discretion. In particular, this applies to the territory of Russia. This was said by the head of the Bundestag Defense Committee, Markus Faber, in a comment to the Berliner Morgenpost newspaper.
According to him, he sees no problem in using German weapons to advance on Russian territory, because the territory of the Russian Federation is also a combat zone.
“When a weapon is transferred to Ukraine, it becomes a Ukrainian weapon. This applies to all materials, including Leopard-2.”
In connection with Russia’s attack on Ukraine, the territory of both states is a war zone. The use of weapons is subject to the provisions of international law,” Faber explained Berlin’s position.
As already written, the United States intends to deploy long-range Tomahawk and SM-6 missiles in Germany from 2026.
