American diplomats managed to convince Tehran to reconsider its decision to launch a military attack on Israel.

Iran is likely to change its mind about massive retaliation against Israel for the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh. Politico reported this on Wednesday, August 7, citing American officials.

It has been mentioned that in recent days, American diplomacy has been actively working with the participation of allies in the Middle East, encouraging Tehran to reconsider its decision to attack Israel militarily.

Iran has been warned that a full-scale strike would only exacerbate tensions and could lead to direct confrontation with the United States, two senior officials said.

The US administration also called on Iran to reconsider its response to the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh, as it appeared to be the result of a remote-controlled bomb at his guesthouse in Tehran rather than as part of a wider attack. However, not a single Iranian citizen was killed.

It was noted that Tehran began to lean towards this position of Washington, although at first it was rejected.

Officials said some kind of Iranian reaction to Haniya’s killing was expected, but that no major attack on Israel was likely.

Iran has reportedly sent a warning to Israel via Hungary of its intention to attack. The announced strike would be a “response” to the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Ghania in Israel. This is what Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz said.

The media previously said that Iran may attack Israel on Monday, August 5. There is also information that it will happen on August 12-13 – the Jewish national day of mourning.

Iran has promised a “strong response” to Israel’s actions
