Elon Musk declared “war” on companies that refused to advertise on X (former Twitter). The social network filed a lawsuit.
The lawsuit was filed against the World Federation of Advertisers (WFA), the GARM initiative and a number of major companies, including Unilever and Mars. The reason is an “illegal boycott” of advertisers that cost X “billion dollars.”
X Corp. CEO Linda Yaccarino cited a report by the U.S. House Judiciary Committee that claimed GARM and its members “colluded” in boycotting X after Musk bought the platform, limiting user choice and violating antitrust laws.
We tried peace for two years, now it’s war, Musk wrote. He also called on other companies that are “systematically boycotted by advertisers” to sue.
