Kirill Budanov, head of the GUR, assessed how long Russia’s offensive will continue.
He believes that in one and a half to two months the main pressure of the Russian army should end, because the offensive has already been delayed, and the experience of the 10-year war shows that neither side can maintain its offensive potential for more than two months.
But we know that after a decline and a short lull, there will be new attempts by the enemy to attack. And we are preparing for this. Therefore, everything depends more on us – what our actions will be. Will we just sit and wait, 4-5 months will pass, and everything will repeat itself, will we act preemptively, – Forbes quotes Budanov.
During his speech at a closed meeting with KSE graduates, Budanov also said that Ukraine knew about the preparation of the PIK Wagner mutiny six months later. However, today there are no impulses towards this scenario in Russia:
If we talk about conditional rebellions of ethnic groups, for this we need a leader on the spot. There is a good leader, he is with us, but he is acquiring the ability. Then we can talk about something. Of course, nothing ever happens, the Wagner rebellion was prepared very early.
In addition, the head of the GUR believes that a repeat military mutiny in Russia requires a leader on the spot. One of them is currently in Ukraine, but is gaining the ability.
