Five Chinese companies cooperating with Russia’s military have fallen under U.S. sanctions.
The U.S. has blacklisted five Chinese companies for violating sanctions related to supporting Russia’s defense industry before and during the war in Ukraine, the Financial Times reports.
The Department of Commerce has placed Chinese companies on a “subject list,” which effectively prevents U.S. companies from exporting to those countries. These companies include Connec Electronic, King Pai Technology, Sinno Electronics, Winninc Electronic and World Jetta (HK) Logistics.
“Today’s actions send a strong signal to businesses and individuals around the world that if they seek to support Russia, the U.S. will cut them off,” said U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Alan Esteves.
Note that the UK has now imposed sanctions against a group of Russian businessmen.
And on the eve of the United States imposed a ban on gold imports from Russia and expanded sanctions against the country.
