Russia has declared an employee of the Moldovan embassy in the Russian Federation persona non grata, in response to Moldova’s decision to expel an employee of the Russian embassy in Chisinau. This was stated in a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry on August 6
On Tuesday, the Russian Foreign Ministry summoned Moldova’s Charge d’Affairs, Alexandre Chetrara, and declared a protest against him for the “unfriendly measures of official Chisinau.”
The diplomat was handed a note recognizing one of the employees of the Moldovan Embassy in Russia as persona non grata.
As we wrote earlier, the security forces are conducting a search in the Parliament of Moldova, allegedly related to a case of treason.
