Large-scale spy network of Russian FSB neutralized by SBU
Russian agents were captured in six regions – in Dnipro, Zaporizhia and Sumy, as well as in Donetsk, Odessa and Kirovograd regions. Ten perpetrators were detained. The press center of the Security Service of Ukraine reported this on August 5 in Telegram.
It turned out that the enemy group included two female officials – an official of the Dniprovsk City Council and the head of a department in the Southern City Council in the Odessa region. Another traitor was a former employee of the disbanded police.
The FSB recruited these criminals after noticing their activity in pro-Kremlin Telegram channels. On instructions from their handlers, the agents collected coordinates for the fire strike on defense forces and critical infrastructure facilities.
During the searches, mobile phones were seized from the detainees with evidence of intelligence and subversive activities in favor of Russia. The perpetrators were informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 (high treason committed under martial law) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. They are currently in custody. They face life imprisonment.
Let us recall that on August 2, the SBU detained an FSB agent who was spying on the Defense Forces in the Vinnytsia region. The attacker was most interested in the arsenals of the Ukrainian army. He also reconnoitred the bases of the training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
