American rock band Aerosmith has officially announced that it will stop touring after frontman Steven Tyler’s injury. The group announced it on Instagram.
The 76-year-old singer injured his ligaments in September of last year and has been trying to restore his voice all this time, but the damage turned out to be more serious than expected. Tyler damaged not only his ligaments, but also his larynx.
“As you know, Stephen’s voice is an instrument like no other. He has spent months working tirelessly to get his voice back to what it was before his injury. We have seen him struggle despite having of the best medical team. Unfortunately, it is clear that a full recovery from his vocal injury is not possible.
The band was forced to cancel their Peace Out farewell tour early after just three shows. At the same time, the rockers promised to return the money to fans for tickets.
