The exchanged politician believes that the West is allegedly “applying sanctions not against Putin, but against the Russians.”
Russian “oppositionist” Vladimir Kara-Murza, one of the prisoners exchanged by Russia, complained about sanctions against the Russian Federation. This was confirmed by Kara-Murza’s statement at a press conference, reports The Bell.
The politician recalled that he was previously “involved in representing Russia at the international level.” In particular, he worked to promote Magnitsky laws in several countries (initiatives that provide sanctions against Russian officials in connection with the death of Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky).
The oppositionist complained that Western sanctions were now directed “not against the regime of dictator Vladimir Putin,” but allegedly against all Russians. In his opinion, this is “unfair.”
“I see the main focus of my activities on the international plane to remind people in democratic countries that Russia and Putin are not the same thing that should focus on criminals and the Putin regime, and not on the citizens of Russian Federation based on citizenship ,” – said the politician.
As you know, on August 1, the largest exchange of prisoners between the Russian Federation and the West since the Cold War took place in Turkey – in fact, prisoners of the West and Russian opposition were given for spies of Russia.
