On Saturday night, Ukrainian air defense shot down 24 Russian-Iranian Shahed-type kamikaze drones. Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk announced this on August 3 in Telegram.
According to him, the Russian aggressors attacked with two S-300 anti-aircraft missiles from the occupied territory of the Donetsk region, two Kh-31P anti-radar missiles from the airspace over the Black Sea, as well as also 29 “martyrs” in the directions: Cape Chauda – Crimea, Primorsko-Akhtarsk , Kursk – Russian Federation.
The air attack was repelled by mobile fire groups, anti-aircraft missile forces and electronic warfare units of the Air Force.
“As a result of anti-aircraft combat, 24 attack UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type were shot down within the Kherson, Odessa, Nikolaev, Poltava, Sumy, Dnepropetrovsk, Kyiv, Vinnitsa and Zhytomyr regions ,” Oleshchuk wrote and thanked. he for combat work.
