Euro-Atlantic integration is stated in the Ukrainian Constitution, but the desire of Kyiv to join the alliance is not enough, the Foreign Minister stressed.
Ukraine has not reconsidered its intention to join NATO, but its mere desire is not enough. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba in an interview with RFI.
The Foreign Minister recalled that Euro-Atlantic integration is provided for by the Constitution of Ukraine and the alliance is the most effective security mechanism in the European space.
“But for Ukraine’s entry into NATO, its will alone is not enough, it must also want NATO. We have seen recently that a historic decision has been made about membership in the European Union, but has to do with NATO since since the beginning of the war, the organization has never taken an act in favor of integration ”, Kuleba stressed.
It was previously reported that NATO was ready to return to consideration on the issue of Ukraine’s accession after its victory in the war with Russia.
