In Ukraine, after the start of a full-scale war, there is a shortage of math, English, and computer science teachers.
There is a huge shortage of teachers in Ukraine, and this problem can be solved by integrating IDP teachers. This was said by the Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Oksen Lisovoy on Thursday, August 1, writes Ukrinform.
“The lack of teachers in Ukraine is huge, especially in mathematics, English, computer science, etc. We can help solve this problem by bringing together teachers from internally displaced people. The teachers of IDP, because there are regions where they are ready to provide them with housing, pay higher wages, if they only come to work,” said the minister.
He also noted that, in particular, in the Nikolaev region there are not enough teachers. At the same time, they are actively integrating internally displaced teachers from Donetsk and Kherson regions.
“This is the right policy, because teachers should work in the regions where they live and not lose their professional skills,” said Lisovoy.
The Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine presented in Kyiv projects of schools of the future – educational institutions that should be built in the country after the war according to new qualitative concepts.
Last academic year, about 600 thousand students in Ukraine received education online. By the end of 2024, they plan to return half of them to full-time education – 300 thousand children.
