Hassan Nasrallah called the Beirut attack, when Shukr was killed, not a revenge move, but an act of aggression.
The death of the head of the Hamas Politburo, Ismail Haniyeh, and the commander of the Hezbollah movement, Fuad Shukr, is a new phase in the conflict with Israel. Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah said this at the farewell ceremony for Shukr, The National reports.
According to him, Israel has crossed “red lines” in these operations, marking a new phase of “a multilateral conflict that will bring tears to Israel.”
“The outlines of the new phase of the conflict depend on the reaction of the enemy,” Nasrallah said.
He again denied Hezbollah’s involvement in the July 27 shooting in the Israeli-controlled Golan Heights village of Majdal Shamsah, which killed 12 children in a rocket explosion. Israeli authorities said Shukr was involved in the incident.
“Our investigation showed that we are not responsible for the incident in Majdal Shams. If it was us, we would have confessed, as we have done many times before,” Nasrallah emphasized.
