The Ukrainian Air Force fleet has been replenished with six such aircraft. In addition, F-16s from Denmark will soon begin to arrive in Ukraine. This was reported by The Times, citing its own sources.
The article says that Dutch Defence Minister Kajsa Ollongren informed parliament in a letter on July 1 that “delivery of the first fighters will begin soon.”
Meanwhile, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said Ukraine had already received the first batch of F-16 fighters as part of Western defense aid. The diplomat stressed that “another impossible thing has turned out to be quite possible.”
A US official told Reuters on condition of anonymity that the delivery of the fighters had been completed.
Let us recall that on July 31, Bloomberg reported that the first F-16 fighters from NATO allies had already arrived in Ukraine. And The Telegraph wrote that Ukraine had made its first combat sorties – modern military aircraft had so far been used only for “air defense.”
